EvAAL uses modern web technologies to deliver interactive assessments. Please ensure your device and browser meet the following requirements for the best experience.
Supported Browsers

Older browsers — including Internet Explorer, Safari 14 and below, and any browser on iOS 12 — are not supported and may not render the application correctly.
Devices
- Desktop / Laptop: Windows 10+, macOS 12+, ChromeOS, or Linux with a supported browser
- Tablet: iPad with iPadOS 15.4+ or Android tablet with Chrome 99+
- Mobile: Functional but not recommended — some subtests require a larger screen for the best experience
Screen Size
A minimum display width of 768px (iPad portrait) is recommended. Subtests involving drag-and-drop, drawing, or mouse tracking are best experienced on screens 10″ or larger.
Internet Connection
A stable broadband connection is required. EvAAL loads assessment content on demand and saves results to the cloud in real time.
Browser Features Used
The following browser capabilities are used by specific subtests. Ensure they are enabled:
- Web Speech API (Speech Recognition): Required for the Speech to Text subtest. Currently best supported in Chrome and Edge.
- Web Speech API (Text-to-Speech): Used for audio instructions and the Auditory Preferences subtest. Supported in all modern browsers.
- Pointer / Touch Events: Required for Mouse Control, Direct Selection, and Keyboarding subtests.
- JavaScript: Must be enabled (required for all functionality).
Accessibility
EvAAL is designed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. The application supports keyboard navigation, screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver), high-contrast mode, and adjustable text sizing. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please contact us.
